Can you use a modern touch in a Cape house? Absolutely! Feedback at the realtors open house was phenominal and drew in traffic beyond expectations of the agent.
Here are some before and after photos - we replaced all furniture except for the dining table, brought in different artwork with color, modern theme to appeal to the younger demographic of the neighborhood:

Good morning, Birgit! Saw this house online. Wonderful transformation - really does appeal to a young family. The "befores" definitely show a lovely, but very dated home. Thanks goodness the window treatments are gone - adds to the spaciousness.
That is really "breath taking"!!!!! LOVE the "ghost chairs" in the Dining Room....so chic!!!! This house went from frumpy to hip & chic....it really is lovely!!!!

Debbie, I agree, window treatments can date a room so much. In such case it is better to have no window treatments at all.
Wanda, it helps when you have clients who are willing to do everything needed to sell the house. In this case we did a lot of other work in the house as well.

Julie, the house was on the market last year for many months and I remember seeing it online back then and thought that the house could use some staging. When I came to the house a few weeks back to see it for the first time, I was so happy to get the opportunity to help.

Birgit - Groovy, baby (said with a Mike Meyers British accent)! The staged rooms are now young, hip and vibrant. A long way from the "before" traditional look. It's fab!
