Golden Oldies, #9

I love Russel’s Golden Oldies post each Saturday morning. It’s fun to go back and see the earlier posts from when people got addicted to ActiveRain, sometimes before they got addicted!

This is a reblog, and I always disable comments on reblogs out of respect for the original author who did all the work. If you would like to leave a comment, click on the link below and leave your comment with Russel who deserves your support with your comments.

Happy Saturday!Check in here each Saturday no later than noon Pacific Time and immediately find ten Golden Oldies that I think are worthy of reblogging, or at least some additional comments for the blog authors.

How my list works: I choose the people first and then I slog through their blogs for days on end to find an old post that is worthy of reblogging and that has few comments. Once you appear in this series, you won't appear again until I've gone through everyone that I want to highlight. No same old, same old here. No highlighting friends week after week. No highlighting any posts that have already been featured. In my blog we spread the wealth around to try to help as many people as possible.

If you don't like any of my choices here, check past Golden Oldies since I always search out posts that are not time-sensitive. Of course, you can also go find your own! So there!

Here are today's ten Golden Oldies that I think are worthy of reading, commenting, and even reblogging:

  1. René BrinSurround Yourself with The Right Kind of People — by René Brin, Brin Realty (Amherst, New Hampshire). Surround yourself with the right kind of people... to me that means folks with positive attitudes, folks that have a high level of ethics, folks that are happy and smiling.
  2. Steps to Selling A Home in Today's Market Linda Mayer— by Linda Mayer, Triple Diamond Realty (San Dimas, California). Buyers determine value by comparison shopping.  They look at the price of your home based on its features and upgrades and compare it with features and upgrades of similar homes that have sold recently or are currently on the market.
  3. Comparing Assessed Valuation to Sale PriceFred Hookham— by Fred Hookham, Keller Williams (Milton, Wisconsin). A lot of Buyers think there is some kind of magic ratio between the assessed value and the offer price that will be accepted.
  4. Lisa and Robert HammersteinSeller Disclosures and Why They Are Important — by Lisa and Robert Hammerstein, Coldwell Banker (Hillsdale, New Jersey). It should be mentioned that the Seller Disclosure is not intended to replace a home inspection but rather to assist the buyer in determining the value of the property they are considering.
  5. These web sites have great tips that we can use in our Real Estate businessGita Bantwal — by Gita Bantwal, RE/MAX Centre Realtor (Warwick, Pennsylvania). Find great home decorating ideas, tips and inspiration for going green, online 3D street and city views, and reviews of businesses.
  6. Remodeling? What Are You Going to Do with That Old Sink? Peggy Chirico— by Peggy Chirico, Prudential CT Realty (Manchester, Connecticut). Whether we are tackling our own DIY projects or recommending projects to clients to get their homes in sell-ready condition, we have to wonder what we are going to do with all the old building materials we will be replacing with bright, shiny, new stuff.
  7. Kristin JohnstonFUNNY!!! I'M TOO BUSY BLOGGING!! — by Kristin Johnston, RE/MAX Realty Center (Waukesha, Wisconsin). Blogging, blog terms, blog sites, blog posts... Blog this, blog that.... BLOG BLOG BLOG and some times it is blah, blah, blah....
  8. Give your open house the best exposure to get crowds Susan Neal— by Susan Neal, Century 21 Noel David Realty (Fair Oaks, California). The name of the game is exposure, exposure, exposure. It doesn't help to say you advertised. People have to see it or what's the point?
  9. Pretty War and Price War Faye Taylor— by Faye Taylor, Keller Williams (Floresville, Texas — my wise old grandmother's hometown!). Let ALL people see the potential of your home by presenting it in the right light to start. Then when you price it right you are ahead of the competition.
  10. No scooping tip furr... the cat owners Anna Dovger— by Anna Dovger, Add Value Home Staging (The Woodlands, Texas). We always suggest to our clients to hide an appearance of their pets and it includes odor elimination. It is easy to suggest but who wants to be a poop scooper?

Until next Saturday, blog away, and remember to make your posts Public so that we can reblog them! After all, if your posts are not rebloggable, how can I tell people to reblog them? "It's not logical," Spock would say.
