I received the most beautiful fuschia plants I have ever seen for Mother's Day this year. There are up to four color variations in each basket. They are beautiful! I have enjoyed them immensely.
One morning while watering the plants, I noticed that something was sticking out of the top of one of the planters. I could not see inside the basket, but I recognized the work immediately. We started watering this plant very carefully and within a few days, we discovered this....
This next shot is within a few days.....
Day 7 - They are still hungry. Their feathers are starting to develop.
Notice the little tupperware container? My husband has decided that there are not possibly enough worms in our yard to feed these little ones, so he has purchased worms at the bait store and placed them here for the mother to feed her babies. Funny thing is, the worms were there this morning and gone when we returned in an hour!
Rare glimpse of mother robin feeding her babies. Unfortunately, I had to crop and zoom in with the photo.
Day 9 - Feathers are developing and the nest appears to be getting cramped!
and true to nature, I am left with an empty nest!
