14 Comments on Top Producer Tech Support Told Me Their Developers "Don't Think like Realtors"
I have top producer 8i since it came out about 6 years ago. Would agree that in a lot of areas it not very intuitive.
I have bee looking for a replacement for some time now.
Peggy, James,
I like swiss cheese. But I don't want my contact management system to be like swiss cheese. Too many holes.
Dave I have learned to use Outlook because if the programmer at Microsoft can't think like me well then at least I don't have to pay extra for it.
Software developers can design their products to meet the demands of their target audience. If they don't there will eventually be alternatives.
Dave: I am working with my software developer to customize Microsoft CRM Dynamics for my needs. It has been a slower process than I would have liked, but I think the result will be worth it. Interesting that software developers and a lot of other support vendors have no idea how involved the real estate process truly is!
I have never used top producer but have considered it.. I use our paragon mls system and the Remax leadstreat system now.. at least there is no extra fees.
My son is a computer programmer. He graduated with honors, and now works for hospital where the program they purchased is very inflexible. He has to try to deal with it internally. It's a nightmare because he supervisor ..who has NO programming in her background, thinks he's being difficult.
The problem is often products are purchased by people who can make the decisions, but have no idea if they will work.
I have used (and paid) for TP for quite some time. If anyone has a better option I am all ears as I have the same issues.
Before TP is what it is today I used their service...it did not suit my need thenI got rid of them after 3 months
Dave,
I also gave up on TP many years ago.
I am currently using Agent Office but its not really any better.
Are we just hard to please.I don't think so.Really simple is better for me.
I think they try to out do each other. Someone need to reverse course and go for KISS not bells and whistles.
We left them in the dust years ago ... Not User Friendly!
