This item in the local paper caught my fancy....
The 34th Annual Fiddler's Festival will be held in Annandale's Ioneer Park next Sunday August 21, 2011.
Now, I haven't been to one of these, but I do like fiddlin' music. And, there is food involved, of course.
The day will start with Singleton Street, a blue grass-gospel band on stage from 11:30 to 1:30 PM.
The Fiddler's contest for fiddlers from across the Midwest begins and 2 PM and will have competition in three division, junior, senior and open.
A pork chop dinner will be served all day. Gate hours are 11 AM to 4 PM and admission is $6 general, $5 seniors, and $4 for children 6 to 16. Kids 5 and under are free.
The Pioneer Park is located along Hwy 55 in Annandale. For information, call 320-274-8489. or visit www.pioneerpark.org.
