The Prince William County Local Newspapers
We all look forward to our local newspaper arriving in the mail. It is still one of the papers we sit down and read to see what is happening in our neighborhoods. It is the good old fashioned community newspaper. The Old Bridge Observer has been faithfully delivered to my home for the past 22 plus years. It was always a pleasure to read and catch up on the hyper-local happenings.

This local Observer newspaper actually has three different newspapers serving the county.
They are:
- The Old Bridge Observer covering mid-Prince William County to the eastern part of the county
- The Manassas Observer covering Manassas
- The Bull Run Observer covering the western part of Prince William County
But good news here! All the local news is now being merged and offered online at www.BullRunNow.com
This brings together on-line the new Old Bridge Observer website with the Bull Run Observer website and the the Manassas Observer website!
www.BullRunNow.com will be updated daily with local news. It will be providing stories, note worthy updates, photos and a calender of local events. It is still a work in progress but a welcome site that merges all of Prince William County's information.
They are requesting that readers let them know what they think.
This is a welcome change and we are certainly happy to see all of the special events and note worthy news available on one website. I am sure it will be as dynamic and exciting as this beautiful county is with all it has to offer its residents!

This is great information for your local newspaper reading public. Hopefull they will still sell the papers, and not go completely online.
Hi Jane, Our hope also. It is great to have them both. Always nice to see the Old Bridge Observer arrive in our mail box but also great to have all the county happenings at one site.
You get your local newspaper delivered in the mail? Interesting. Ours comes via a delivery route person. He usually has our paper at the front door by 4:00 a.m. whereas the mail delivery doesn’t get here until around 3:00 p.m.
Kathleen I do believe they will have to give it a lot of publicity for it to be as successful as we hope
I quit taking the local newspaper a couple of years ago because they put everything online and the paper that came the next morning was everything that I had already read online.
We have the Oregonian as the major paper in Oregon (and since we're across the river, they cover us too)- we used to subscribe. But now, we just get the Columbian, our Clark County paper and like it better. We too have a guy deliver ours early in the a.m.
Hi Jim, The hyper-local paper is indeed delivered by mail every other week. The regional paper comes by the the delivery route person. It is a treat to read the hyper-local Old Bridge Observer, very local happenings.
Karen, I agree. I hope they keep both but we can all see the change coming. I am also partial to certain writers in the Observer and have met a few of the writers through the years. They were always very involved and tied to the community.
Eric, I hear this from so many. The Observer website will be great in that it merges the three papers together. Three hyper-local papers, which will give us more of a reach within the county.
The Old Bridge Observer, The Bull Run Observer, The Manassas Observer
Thanks Debb for stopping by as always. Seems we all have our favorites. Change is coming here also...
We have such a great community with so many interesting community events and stories to be told and read.
Kathleen, we have about six community papers here in the District. They are sort of fun to read, and they've turned into the best place to learn about estate sales to pick up staging pieces!
Patricia, Absolutely. So much great local stuff. Thanks for stopping by!
This is really useful info for anyone moving to your area. I think this gives me a good idea for a post in my area!
Georgina, It is useful information for the community. I have had a few people now tell me they saw my blog and have the site bookmarked. Have a great eve!
