1. Check around the outside of your home to make sure you do not have standing water
2. If you see dampness in a wall or ceiling check to find out what the source of the problem is.
3. Keep air circulation under the house. Especially after a heavy rain.
4. Fix leaks promptly.
5. Service your heat and air annually.
6. Dont forget to check the basement. Clean out wet/damp areas promptly.
7. To reduce indoor humidity vent dryers and bathrooms to outside.
8. If you have a leak that saturates a carpet or tile replace it.
9. Use paint that has a EPA approved mold inhibitor.
10. Don't carpet bathrooms
11. If a wall is at risk for water damage do not put vinyl wallpaper on it.
