When Things Go Pear Shaped...
Mama said that there would be days like this. No matter how hard you try or what you do, things are just going to go pear shaped.
No, it's not necessarily your fault that the day went the way it did, it just seems as if the gods had other plans and nothing you did would change the hand of destiny. Like pawns in a chess game, the god, sitting in their lofty positions somewhere in the heavens, push, manipulate or mess with our puny mortal minds.
We get mad because things are not going our way. Frustrated, because nothing we do seems to work. We shake our fists, flip our fingers, and curse the gods but to no avail. We are human, they aren't and they know what we want.
Sooner or later, after they have had a good laugh at our expense, all is fine. They snap their fingers and the rain begins to fall once again.
