How can you get points without blogging?

your profile gives you points, comments give you points, linking your site to other sites gives you points etc

Also inviting people gives you points

Hi Jose!  There's a very useful post about the ActiveRain points system located here:  http://activerain.com/blogsview/1312203/the-activerain-point-system.  Check that out - since it was written by someone on ActiveRain's side of the fence, it's solid info.  The points system actually seems very well thought out and works well to divy up points to people who actually participate in the community, not just those who do the bare minimum that they can to get points.  It's a great system, in my experience so far.  Good luck!

I just wrote a similar post and, while trying to get answers, came upon this one. I'm thinking they must be earning these points from people they referred to AR. Personally, I think there should be a limit to how many points one can earn between posts or comments. While looking at the ranking in my state, one guy has blogged over 400 posts and the person ranked above him -- zero.
