Six projects with Scottsdale ties received honors during the Sept. 29 Valley Forward Association Environmental Excellence Awards. The awards annually recognize outstanding contributions to the sustainability of Valley communities. These local projects received Crescordia Awards, the program’s highest honor:
The annual Green Building Expo, which is a collaborative effort spearheaded by volunteers and supported by the cities of Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe.
The Scottsdale Water Resource Department's Aquifer Sustainability Program, which is made up of an innovative set of water-resource management strategies that helped the city achieve “safe yield” in 2006 and reduced the city's reliance on groundwater.
