Have you ever considered buying an electric car? I had not seriously ever considered this opportunity until recently. A friend of mine builds electric cars in Lancaster, PA. His name is Brandon Hollinger and he is a contestant in an electric car contest. Time also did a feature on his work in the video embedded below.

Wouldn't it be great to not change oil or buy gas ever again! Even though gas prices have been coming down recently, I would love just pluggin my car in at the end of every day.

Oh, by the way, if you like what you see, vote for Brandon. The winner of the contest wins $20,000 of parts to help build another electric vehicle. I would love to help Brandon win this contest. Would you consider helping him?

I am considering ways of going more green in Lancaster, PA.

No thanks on the electric car.  I would rather bike around town. :)

Biking is great too, Jeremy. Just a very difficult thing for me in the present place that I live.

I will look forward to hearing what you decide Dan.

Cal,

Good luck to your friend.  I can't believe it's that easy to convert and I think he's modest about his skills.

I noticed my neighbor has a new Leaf parked in their driveway, and Priuses are very popular out here in Silicon Valley.

Timely post with all the issues I've been having with my car lately.  I just voted for Brian.........best to him in the contest.  Cool videos Cal.

Lloyd, I have looked at a Leaf, at least online. They are actually pretty cool.

Thanks for voting for Brandon, Roger. I appreciate it and I am sure Brandon will as well.

Brandon is working on the right idea for our future and I'll give him my vote.  We can't continue our dependence on oil forever.

Cal, I currently drive a Hybrid, but an electric car would do me just fine.  Probably will be my next car as soon as they become a little more commonplace and hopefully a bit less expensive.

Cal~

I have been a fan of electric cars for (what seems like) ages! All we need to do is discover a way to ---maybe solar power?-- to keep those batteries charged for the long run...I hope you will post this in the
Eco All Stars group...so interesting!  In the meanitme, I've tweeted it =)

Friends, thanks so much for your interest and support of Brandon. I have really been surprised how cool electric cars are. I do agree that they are the wave of the future.

Remember those Saab's.... one local fellow had a couple and 2 cycle, little oil in the exhaust like a chainsaw, snowsled (old ones) outboard marine motor. Good luck!
