YOU CAN CREATE THE PERFECT RENTAL APPLICATION

By
Real Estate Agent with Long & Foster

You can create the perfect rental application. Just practice the following steps and your application will be looked at with positive vibes.... increasing or at least not taking away from your chances for a desired result.

  1. Write legibly so that you are not the only one who can translate the information presented on the application. Neatness counts.  2. Complete the entire application to rule out your being asked for additional information after the application has been submitted. Your real estate agent should review all the information submitted in the application prior to sending it the rental agency. 3. Adhere to the rental agency protocol for application submitted. It's their policy and if you follow it your application should be reviewed without difficulty and in a timely manner.

After you submitting your application to the agency allow a reasonable time to pass prior to calling for a progress / results report. Your application may be the only one for the property in question... but it probably isn't the only one in the office. So even though we are in the computer age, thing still tend to take time and decisions have to be made prior to your receiving the final answer. Allow your Realtor to advise you in this type situation. After all he/she is your representative and that's one of the main reasons you have an agent.

A complete application neatly written is perfect for getting the notice you deserve!

In this market I find myself working with a lot of people that want to rent/lease.  That was very good information and I am going to see if it helps me speed up the process.  Thank!

My application form is one page and in pdf on my website.  Many rental prospects come to a viewing with them completed and READY TO GO!

Juan - it's been a whilte since you wrote this post. A lot of the rental application process has stayed the same as when you last wrote it. There are now a good amount of digital rental applications out there for clients to fill out on their phone or computer to avoid that UGLY handwriting!

Dan Edward Phillips - you're right filling out a digital rental application really is a true test to their compentence. Even in a digital age.

As a landlord or agent representing the landlord it would be wise to make sure that the rental application you have asks all the right questions. I wrote an extensive article on questions to ask on your rental application form. I hope its helpful to you!
