Good morning Toni, Thanks for the early morning history lesson. I will definitely have to check that out. Have a great day!
Hi Toni,
Sounds like a great place to add to your to do list when on vacation there.
I like anything to do with history about the areas I go to.
Good post. Best,
Clint Mckie
Hi Fred, Thanks. I see you are coming to our Meet Up in Sept. It will be nice to "see" you.
Clint- I love history; whenever we would go on vacation, we would always find the historical things and check them out. Thanks.
Toni, Museums are nice to visit for all that historical information. There's a lot of history from that little two room school house.
It's important to document our history and it sounds like New Port Richey is in good hands with the West Pasco Historical Society overseeing this museum refurb effort.
Thanks for sharing this chapter of your local history. The museum should be a wonderful resource for your community.
Hi Toni, I grew up in Pennsylvania and down the street from my house there was a 2 room school house that was use up to 1941 my mom said. Now it is a resident also.
My hubby, a history teacher, would love this....nice support of a local attraction too...have a nice day!
Hi Toni, It is always good when places of historical significance can be saved and restored like this building. The stories it can tell.
Gloria
Toni,
I love those old one room school houses, especially when you think of how much they accomplished. They were the originators of learn and then teach method, where older kids helped the younger ones. What a great idea to turn it into the museum. A
Jerry - I agree; everytime I go I see something I didn't notice before.
Anita - They have been doing a great job.
Roy - thank you.
It seems like they can be used for all kinds of things, Will.
Thanks, Kristin. My major was history.
Gloria - you are so right; it's a cute building too so I'm glad they saved it.
Alexandra - That's so true they were so important in communities back then; and this one still is.
Toni, Always enjoy learning about the many attractions you have in New Port Richey FLA. The West Pasco Museum sounds like it has much history to save and it's nice to learn that it will soon be reopened for all to enjoy!
Toni, I love checking out all the sights in an area....one can really learn about an area by visiting museums..Each time I visit the historic museum here, I continue to learn more about Lewisburg.
Toni, that's a nice little area by the river as well. It's nice to have a place where local history can be preserved.
Howdy and evening Toni
Toni, it sure is mighty fun to go visit Historical Society Museums. Folks are able to learn so must about an area. Another one of your mighty fine Localism blog posts.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Toni.....That looks like a old structure I'd be out trying to find.....Nice post!
Hope you have a great weekend!---Rob
Go Vols!
Toni - I love the localism history lesson! There is so much to discover about this area of our state!
Toni, That is nice that the building has been saved and restored into a museum! Too many of the buildings like this one have been torn down and with them a referrence as to what used to be is gone forever!
Sheila - thank you. I love anything to do with history. I'm looking forward to the re-opening.
Rebecca - I know it's like finding a new toy each time!
Silvia - it is a pretty spot in the park and by Orange Lake.
Dale - you are the history master so thank you!
Rob - I'm always looking for the oldies too but we don't have the barnes you have in TN.
Barbara-Jo - glad you enjoyed it. I'm thinking of a History Series.
Tony - yes, I'm happy too that the building was saved and used as a museum.
Thank you all!
