We were visiting my family near Sun Valley, Idaho a couple weeks ago. There's a home I've been watching go up for at least a year, and it's now complete. Interestingly enough, I was at the grand opening of a small, boutique condo building on Seattle's Capitol Hill a couple years ago, and had the pleasure of meeting architect Tom Kundig, whose work I've long admired. It turned out Tom was the architect of this home, 600 miles from where we met, but 2 blocks away from my parents' house. It IS a small world after all! Anyway, the home is amazing, and speaks for itself. You can see more of Tom's great work at the firm's website, and I highly recommend his "coffee table" books, Houses, and Houses 2 (both appear to be available through Amazon.com) - they are major eye candy for the architecture junkie. If I ever win the lottery I will definitely enlist Tom to design me a house. . . somewhere!
