What's up with this market?

If I had a nickel for every time I was asked, "what's up with this market" I could retire.  Ok, not really.  But I would be able to buy a pack of gum, maybe 3.  My usual response is, "what do you mean?" and it is conveyed with all sincerity. The local real estate market is strong, busy and vibrant, but that is just my perspective.  I live it every day and see new listings come one, then come off market.

We live in an area of constant turnover with an array of huge corporations based here, including Staples, TJX, Bose and EMC.  Not to mention all the academic institutions, medical facilities and other small businesses based in Eastern MA.  So, I guess my response should really be, "What's NOT up with this market?".  Prices are lower than they have been in a few years, mortgage rates are still at record lows and the number of professionals working in real estate has decreased.

Once again, today is a great day to buy or sell property.

Yes, and what's more questionable in todays market has become a sudo-chic trend within the last few years of a self incriminating attitude of a growing number of so-called Real Estate "Sales  Professionals: Brokers, Sales Associates, Mortgage  Brokers and the so-called Entry-Only Real Estate Company or "Help to Sell Artists",  who  have entered this  business to make a  Quick Buck and  then leave a path of negitivity and a very large deposit of ill will and deceit to the buying and selling public whom they infect.  It almost seems that we in the Real Estate Community have succored to this "Truth" of the doubters and doom & gloomers and 'experts in- the-field'  that seem to be spreading around our lands a most dehabilitating message of mistrust for our work and future.

After living through  close to three decades in this Eastern MA, ever evolving/changing Real Estate conundrum that lives within, around and about me, one thing is very clear.  You must LOVE the work- and not only the Real Estate  business but the people in it,  who come in all sizes and shapes and all different colors and styles that inherently come to our door steps asking us, the Real Estate Pro for one very essential thing.  To help them find (hopefully, in a most professional way) a home to live in.    What more of a noble task can one do in life for another human being than to assist and support them in obtaining one of  lifes greatest needs: Shelter, comfort, joy and a place to call Home.  It's not always about the "Benjamins"!

So, 'What's up with this market?, one asks.  Our lives, our future, our families, our safety, hopes and dreams and most of all, "What's NOT up with this market?
