I have an announcement to make. For those who has been on AR long enough, it is like a public service. In 3 days it is Brad Andersohn's birthday. So, if you know who he is, then you most probably like him a lot, and then you can go to his page and tell him that.
I have a bit of nostalgia for the time when Brad was not yet even an employee of AR and not yet ActiveBrad. The time when he was writing those highly educational/useful/eye opening, practical blogs and hundreds of members flocked to them every day. What a great time that was. What an awesome level of enthusiasm that was.
AR was like beautiful bride that we were all in love with. There was one and only girl like her in the Universe... Now she is mature, still beautiful, but we grew out of the fascination, we noticed that there are other girls, and love is not only roses...
Brad is my memory of the time of love, time of roses... A guy, who was insatiable in sharing what was needed just to start out there, and we, like a sponge were taking it and putting to a test. A cool and fun guy, a musician, Brad Andersohn...I remember the drama of finding his brother, and it was another side of Brad.
I remember commenting on his blog that he should have employed half of India to work behind the scenes, that's how productive he was on AR, and he was joking, but never acknowledged it (lol). I saw him once at AR party in Orlando a few years ago. He was there with Rich Jacobson, Jon Washburn, I think he just joined AR... I recognized him immediately, and who wouldn't? But I am a shy guy, and I did not come and hug. I was just watching him...
When he left AR, I was saddened, but I was not really surprised. Everything has its beginning and end... He went to Zillow, which made it a bit more personal for me...
It was when AR was our only sun, Brad Andersohn and few others were its planets, and we all were young and ambitious stars. Some even bright...
Brad is the legend of AR beginnings.
Happy birthday, Brad!
