Mr. Warren Buffet granted an interview to CNBC called, Buffett Blasts Washington for 'Silly' Game of 'Russian Roulette'

The focus was the overall economy but I found something in there to feed our spirit and say hurray!  I'm just saying, if Mr. Buffet says it then it is true, in my humble opinion.

On the U.S. economy, Buffett sees improvement in Berkshire's businesses, except for those associated with the construction industry, a sector that needs to play a "crucial" part in an economic rebound.

He believes people underestimate how much lagging home construction is keeping the unemployment rate high. Buffett predicts we'll be "amazed" at the improvement in employment once the construction sector inevitably rebounds.

Berkshire, he says, employs more people today than it did two months ago and will keep hiring. He thinks the construction sector may start significant hiring by the end of the year.

A factor in his expectations for a construction rebound is that in most places around the country, buying a house makes more financial sense than renting.

As he has said many times in the past, "It makes no sense to bet against America" for the long-term.

@ Dawn - Unfortunately, people make BIG decisions based on emotions.  Believe it or not, there is an algabraic formula to value stocks and bonds but it's not used commonly :)

Buffett is seldom wrong - but what is the mechanism that boosts construcition by the end of this year?  I don't see the impetus on a national level.  I agree that building is essential and the housing market are essential for overall prosperity.  One reason - you can't outsource it and so it PAYS WELL.  I was a molecular biologist by trade and found myself engaged in a race to the bottom - so I switched to something that can not be sent to China.
