Kindergarden - Fun memories!

Kindergarten

Some of us remember those times like it was yesterday, and some of us just can't recall!

I still shake my head at the silly things we would do back then.

  • Take our lunch sandwich bags and trap honey bees in them...  And try to sneak them in class...
  • Grab snails and see how many we could get in a pile...
  • See how many of us we could get to pee on a tree out back at the same time...
  • Pretend that we didn't hear the teacher calling us in after recess...
  • Lift weights, and look studly to impress the girls..  (OK, I made that one up)
  • Always smiling, and showing all of my teeth in pictures

I can remember my kindergarten days pretty vividly.  My brother and I were attending a private school, and after a few years our parents felt our education was not where it should be.  So they ended up taking us out of the private school and that landed us into the Cupertino School District.  Funny thing, is that school district was one of the best in the state.

So with that abrupt change, I can remember the contrast between the two.

Chris:  I did the same thing that your parents did with you and your brother with my boys....started them out in private and ended up putting them in Temecula Schools, which are the best in Riverside County.....I have to admit I was too scard to put a honey bee in a bag but glad it was a good memory for you!

Ok Chris you had way more fun that I did in kindergarten! The bees in the bag would have been so cool but we didn't have plastic bags yet back then:( LOL

Chris, I can tell you had a good time and I bet you still do.   Very refreshing to read your memories.   I had to laugh, thinking back to my own memories and things we NOW admit we did.

Chris, funny!  I can just imagine the teacher having a fit seeing a bunch of little boys "watering" a tree!  And you are still smiling!

Chris I can only imagine what kind of kid you were.... I am assuming not much has changed! :) Based upon the leadership qualities you possess, I would not put it past you if you were the ring leader/instigator in all that mischiefness! :)

You do seem to be the type to collect snails and see how many people you can get to pee on a tree at the same time..lol..

Chris, I can certainly picture you doing all of those things when you were younger!  Can't say I tried too many of those activities, other than not hearing the teacher call us in from recess-LOL

Thanks for the fun post. I have been scratching my head to figure out what I remember from my days of kindergarten. I have many early memories, but am having some problem remembering the distinct days of that year. I liked reading yours.

Hi Chris, My Kindergarten Days were wonderful. The teacher , Mrs Milidore discovered I had a talent for painting and I did everything I could to hide it fearing my Dad make me help paint our house. Funny now but I didn't like the smell of house paint nor the drop clothes that had dried paint on them.  After my 1st year of college, I never painted again, except that first summer to use transparent oils on a few of my friends high school photos, making them to be full color portraits as a gift of our long friendship.

Chris,

We enjoyed your reminiscing.  Kindergarten was fun.  I remember having bicycles to ride (actually they were tricycles), and I wanted to ride the whole day.  Everything else seemed meaningless. LOL. A

Chris:

Must have been the private school where you did those naughty thing.  We weren't allowed to play with snails at my school, we were far to dainty.
