The horrors of the Judsonia tornado in 1952 still fill lots of survivor's memories.  Several blog posts have been done concerning this tornado but probably the one that is most remembered is the one with the picture showing the mansion in Judsonia standing amidst ruin, proud and pretty.  Here's the blog link. http://activerain.com/blogsview/576533/1952-judsonia-ar-tornado-damages-and-survival-of-a-mansion-

and here's the photograph.

Now the house is on the market for $138,000.  There is a visual tour if you'd like to see it at this link.  The detail on this house is (or was) magnificent.  It makes you wonder whether anyone today could actually do a house that looks as good as this one does.

For sale in Judsonia

While reviewing this house, go to this blog and read the poignant testimony of a young girl's survival.

Hi Barbara. Is not it amazing how with a tornado some buildings can remain untouched, almost like the hand of God won't allow it to be harmed???

Kenneth, thanks.

Gary, you are right.  This one was meant to remain in Judsonia.  It was certainly large enough to be hit by winds!

Breathtaking. And especially relevant to me as I'm a new homeowner. This is such an incredible price for a house of that magnitude - any idea who's lived there up until now?

I've seen the old storm pictures and every time I drive through Judsonia I say, "I wonder where that mansion is?" because I knew it still stood.

The virtual tour seems a bit vague. I'm wondering if some of those rooms are worse for wear. But even so, wow.

Barbara, that mansion in Judsonia is absolutely gorgeous! I hope someone buys it and restores it to it's original state.

Robert, I'm with you.  I'd hate to pay for utility bills.  This one, believe it or not, has had window replacements.  Bet that cost a fortune!

I was just int Judsonia for a funeral.  My sister and I couldn't beleive it, it's up for sale.  $138,000 OMG!!We peeked into the windows and finally got in the back yard.  No one was there, it looks like it'll take a few bucks to fix it up.  WOW! a fixxer upper.  I'm the one who wrote the memory of the tornado.

Olieb, thanks so much for checking in.  Your writing about the tornado has had so many visitors!  You need to give me your phone so I can have folks contact you.  The newspaper wanted to interview you!!  I'm glad you got to see the old house again.
