This post was inspired by Chris Elizabeth Griffith, who wrote her own "six pack" of favorite posts and encouraged us all to do the same.  I decided to do mine as an award showcase for my previous posts.  These are my favorites of the bunch.  Since I chose more than six blogs, I am calling this a Party Ball of Posts, although I don't know if they actually make party balls anymore.  In fact, I never purchased a party ball, but they looked like fun.  They were supposed to be like mini-kegs, I think.  But I digress, so without further ado...

First up, the award for MOST PERVASIVE AND VIRAL POST I HAVE WRITTEN goes to:

Some Suggestions for New Active Rain Abbreviations - Do you LOL often?

The above post has spawned a new secret language on Active Rain.  Also, I put it first on my list here because my wife told me that this one really represents my personality the best (i.e. wildly funny and charming....right?).

Next, I would like to present the award for MOST COMMENTED BLOG OF MINE.  With 147 comments, this is the clear winner (also the winner for MOST POINTS RECEIVED, with 582):

A Watched Pot Never Boils - My Perspective on the National Market

This next award goes to the POST THAT I HAD THE MOST FUN WRITING WHICH ACTUALLY ALSO MANAGED TO GET FEATURED:

"Getting Better" Scenes from Movies - I wish we could use them with clients

Is this self-explanatory?  Maybe not.  I guess you should read it to make sure.

One that I will never forget is MY FIRST FEATURED POST EVER:

View from the broker's desk - what makes a good agent?

Believe it or not, an agent in Wisconsin called me today who said that this post rang true for them.  You never know how far the ripple spreads when you throw out the pebbles that are our blogs.

Another one that I will likely never forget is THE POST THAT GOT OVER 100 COMMENTS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY BLOGGING CAREER:

Worst photo contest

I have been blessed to have had five of my posts reach the century mark, and my "LOL" post above still sits at a lonely 99 comments.  Any takers?

I think this next post was THE FUNNIEST POST I HAVE WRITTEN WITH POP CULTURE REFERENCES:

MORE song stuff - Am I hard of hearing? My Lazy Ear Syndrome

This is about lyrics that I have misunderstood, some for over 20 years. I even solved a lyrical mystery by looking up the words to "KOKOMO" by the Beach Boys.  It may help you, too!

The final choices are two posts that give an intimate look into who I really am.  These are THE POSTS THAT LET YOU INTO MY LIFE:

What makes a man a real man? Lessons from my Grandpa

My Friend David

Honestly, I am happy I shared these two.  I got some of the kindest comments on them that I have yet to receive.

Thanks for joining me on today's show.  Come back next year.  I appreciate you coming out.  This was sort of like creating a cheesy clip show from one of my favorite sitcoms.

TOM - Thanks, buddy.  I know you meant it, because you used seven exclamation points!  I appreciate it very much.  Have a great Monday!

10/22/2007 04:03 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Jason - I think I have read all but one. I am going to have to go back into your archives some and check those out! Great idea on the six pack theory. I have read a few where others have put theirs together. I considered it but I think I need some more time and more posts. Great job as usual!! Thanks for keeping me and others so entertained and educated. You Rock!!  Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...*mimic the Fonz*

Jason,

Another great recap. I've read and enjoyed them all. I was going to head over and leave you an LOL, but I already commented and think it'd only be fair to let someone else put you over the century mark. I don't think I've ever hit that mark. Thanks for the post.

10/22/2007 04:18 PM by Andrew Trevino Wilkes-Barre Homes For Sale (TradeMark Realtors Group)

Jason / Loveseat / Crouch / Fellow Horseman:  Of course I have read all of these posts before and commented on them.  Great selection and I enjoyed the way you presented them with the award ceremony.  Here's a challenge for December -- why don't we all write a post choosing our Top 10 posts (not our own) for the entire year (or at least entire time we've been on AR)?  Another idea for March Madness would be to create a Sweet Sixteen bracket of competing posts.  And of course, we could have a Blog Battle Royale wrestling match, except that Paul and his freakishly long neck would inevitably be triumphant.  JGOITC!

10/22/2007 04:27 PM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Hey there, No I haven't read all of them, but could easily .......it's been awhile since I have gone to all your posts......ummmm wonder why?  Anyway, nice how you put this together.

10/22/2007 04:27 PM by Kathy McGraw ~ Calif Broker (CELLing Realty)

I wish you put this up yesterday.... Ran into a bunch of  abbreviations on another post and was clueless as to the meanings.... Sometimes people get confused when I say WTF...  Here I'm thinking Was That Fun!  Can't imagine what's on their mind.... LOL

10/22/2007 04:33 PM by Dan Cummings - Connecticut's Running Realtor (Raveis Real Estate)

CANDI - Thanks for that.  I actually have a picture (probably more than one) of myself with a Fonzie t-shirt, giving the requisite thumbs up.  I need to find that photo and post it here on AR.  It truly epitomizes the essence of cool.  You need to read the one you haven't read and let me know what you think.  Have a great day!

10/22/2007 04:46 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

CROUCHIE:  I love the format and the content.  It's like taking a trip down memory lane to all of the posts that I"ve visited and commented on.  BTW, we called them Beer Balls up in Oneonta.  It's the only time that I've ever seen them.  They were used mostly to smuggle beer into the dorm rooms for parties.  Strangely enough, we were allowed to have cans and bottles, but apparently people get more out of hand when a tap is nearby.  Go figure!  Actually this just inspired a very funny post idea.  Thanks Buddy.

10/22/2007 04:51 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

I don't know of anyone who can boast of a better sampling.  The first few were just pure genius.  The last two were special.  You are like the athlete who gets better as the game goes on.  To think that we are still just into the second quarter!

I just had a great idea for a dual post by the way.  Down the road, when we've settled the debts of these silly little challenges we keep throwing back and forth, we need to let everyone in on the fun by supplying a map to the insanity.  Before this is all over, Adam is going to need moderators for his moderators.

10/22/2007 05:14 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Jason, love the html in your post, good visual and great list. I think I read them all but one. LOL

10/22/2007 05:27 PM by Missy Caulk Ann Arbor Realtor Ann Arbor Real Estate (Keller Williams Ann Arbor)

ANDREW - I have had some people comment repeatedly on the same post, so whatever you prefer is fine with me.  Thanks for your continued support, buddy!

10/22/2007 05:40 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Jason, you were all over the place today. Thanks for actually reading the six pack. Now the pressure is on. I just wanted to warn you that I am about to get ready to start reading.

I haven't missed a single one of these! I love them all!

BRIAN THE BRAIN- Thanks for mentioning that you liked the format on this one.  I was inspired as I was writing it, so I changed it around a bit.  I like your ideas as well.  Maybe we could have a Superbowl of posts, with playoffs in January.  You're right though, Paul will ultimately win any wrestling challenge, so it is futile for the rest of us to try.

10/22/2007 10:09 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

KATHY - Thanks for your comment.  I am not sure that I understand your cryptic reference.  Is there something I don't know?

10/22/2007 10:11 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

DAN - I actually say WTF sometimes as well.  Of course, I mean Wow! That's funny!  No, I don't.  I say it as a question.

10/22/2007 10:12 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

ADAM - I kind of like "Crouchie".  It feels like I should be on the Sopranos with a name like that.  Let's stick with Crouchie for a little bit.  I look forward to seeing your new post.

10/22/2007 10:15 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

I love "Crouchie"!  This post was almost as awesome as the ones you featured in it.  I have a special fondness to the picture post...I was just thinking about that one the other day...oh I think about it every-time I see stupid pictures in MLS which is everyday...at least there's comedy attached to it now!  I will openly admit that the abbreviations make my head hurt a little bit...but it's probably a language we'll all have to get used to soon enough.

10/22/2007 10:32 PM by Shannon Lefevre Naples, Florida CRS (John R. Wood REALTORS Inc.)

CROUCHIE, I was just wondering if you had been able to decipher my acronym JGOITC!

10/22/2007 11:05 PM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

SHANNON - If you love Crouchie, then I love Crouchie.  Thanks for your compliment about the post.  I also have a special fondness for the picture post, because I gained a new friend with that one (you!).  By the way, I spoke to your friend Yvonne today, and referred her to a friend of mine who does apartment locating.

Sorry to give you a headache with the abbreviations - I wasn't expecting anyone to take it seriously.  Here you go:

10/22/2007 11:06 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

BRIAN the BRAIN - No luck yet with anything that makes sense.  How about a hint first?

10/22/2007 11:08 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

PAUL - Thanks for some of the best comments that I have received to date.  You might have just made my personal "best comments" list with that one.  I love the idea for the dual post.  Let's get some more under our belt first.  I think the more we raise the stakes, the more entertaining it will be for everyone else.  Talk to you soon -

10/22/2007 11:14 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

CROUCHIE, J = just; C = comments.  See if you can get it now!  By the way, what happened to the idea a while back of the challenges group?

10/22/2007 11:15 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

STEPHEN - I see that you did do some serious reading on my blog today.  Thanks for that, buddy!  I actually subscribed to yours today.

10/22/2007 11:18 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

JENNIFER - Thanks for your friendship and loyal readership of my blog.  I am not quite sure what you wrote there - Do You Think This Comment...?

10/22/2007 11:20 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

BRAIN - I actually thought it was "Just Get On In The Comments", but that didn't make sense.  I guess I am stumped!  I have good days and not-so-good days in my deciphering.  By the way, I never have heard back from the guy who wanted a listing agent in Austin.  I guess I missed my window there - just too busy this past week to properly follow up with him - sorry.

10/22/2007 11:25 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

CROUCHIE, very close.  It was "Just Goofing Off in the Comments!"  No problem on the guy looking for an agent in Austin.  He may have found someone else.  I never heard from him either.  I'm sure there will be plenty of others in the near future.

By the way, I was at our local association convention today.  In one of the classes, a national real estate trainer mentioned to us that Austin, Texas is the BEST PLACE for real estate investment today!  Maybe I'll have to come there and buy some investment property (after I take care of paying off some bills).

We also had the Governor of Virginia speak this morning who was incredibly optimistic about Virginia citing reports that for 2 years in a row Virginia was chosen as the Best State for Business, #3 in students taking AP courses and exams, top 10 in education, #1 best managed state government, Volkswagen U.S. HQ moving here, etc.  (this will likely be the subject of a blog of mine this week).

10/22/2007 11:30 PM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

BRAIN - I can't believe I couldn't get that one figured out.  It was the Goofing that messed me up!  I kept thinking of give, get, go, but not an -ing word.  As for Austin being a great place to invest, you are correct.  I have an idea about a post along these lines as well.  That is great news about Virginia, my friend.  Let me know if you are ever interested in looking for an investment property here in the Austin area, or if you know anyone else who is.

10/22/2007 11:52 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Oh I'm glad Yvonne called you!  That's great.  Sorry it wasn't for buying or selling.  She's the kind of girl who will keep your info. when she does decide to do something though.  It was a GREAT day when she called last week and asked me if I knew "anybody in Austin".  YYYYYAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Soon enough I will have another person who will pay off for you!

10/23/2007 12:21 AM by Shannon Lefevre Naples, Florida CRS (John R. Wood REALTORS Inc.)

Jason-What a treasure chest full of great blogs from you.  I think I'm now officially caught up on all your blogs.  Thank you for sharing so much with us and keeping us all inspired and full of laughter each day.

10/23/2007 12:48 AM by Julie Neerings~Lifting Hearts ♥ Building Dreams~Utah REALTOR® (Keller Williams Salt Lake City)

SHANNON - I was glad to be able to help her, and I told her to keep me in mind if she decides to buy here at some point.  I also told her to let me know if she needs anything at all.  She seems very nice.  I look forward to the day when someone mentions Naples.  Take care, my friend.

10/23/2007 01:11 AM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

JULIE - Thanks again for your support.  If you have really read ALL of my blogs (133 of them), then I handily applaud you.  I hope you only read the good ones.  I will continue to "fight the good fight" and try to inspire my friends here at AR.

I love each and every one of those posts.  I don't know how you consistently hit it out of the ball park with great posts- all which touch different emotions- funny, sad, the whole business professional side- you cover it all with great skill.

If you use a pic of 'The Fonz' in a blog post.... have you 'Jumped the Shark'?!?!?

Just curious

TOM - Nice reference, but I haven't jumped yet.  I am just getting started, like from the early "Happy Days" before Potsie even starting singing.  Here's a clip from the "post-shark" days (Richie has a mustache!):

Jason- I missed just two of those, will go there to read this weekend. You are a good writer, wait, better than good writer, very engaging, focused and real. Real is good! You must get good clients from your posts. Katerina

10/25/2007 12:41 AM by Nestor & Katerina Gasset Realtors® Wellington Florida Luxury Homes (International Properties and Investments, Inc.)

KATERINA - Thanks so much for your kind words.  That means a lot to me coming from you since I think you are also quite talented.  I have only picked up one client directly from my blog so far (and three referrals from other AR members/friends), but I hope to have many more if I keep it up.  I agree - real is good!!
