The Tea Party, what is it, why I like it.

Let the truth be told, the Tea Party is a grass roots movement of ordinary folks fed up with raising taxes, raising debt, and raising dependence on big government by people who think they have a right to the fruits of other peoples labors.  See my recent post on toll hikes in New York and New Jersey.

Item;  We are taxed TWICE on Social Security.  Once when we pay into it and once when we start collecting benefits.  Thank you Mr. Al Gore, (D)

The Death Tax;  Think about it, if you knew that your estate would be taxed at over 55% at your death, why would you stay in the state were you live?  You would leave and move to a state that doesn't have a death tax.  So, that tax takes revenue AWAY from the the public treasury, making it a regressive tax.  Just stupid, let along not fair.

Forty percent of the tax collected by the feds are paid by the top 1% of earners.  And about 51% of Americans don't pay any federal income tax at all.  (Fair share)?

That's just for starters, don't get me going.

I cut up my AARP card and I joined AMAC

Agreed.  I get so weary of hearing about wealthy Americans not paying enough taxes - and never anything about those that pay nothing.  I understand that some people don't make enough to pay, but to say the wealthy should pay more is ludicrous.  Plus, any additional tax revenue is usually wasted by government ineffeciencies.

Margaret;  Thanks so much for your comment.  Hello, nice to meet you and nice to see we think alike.

I would rather the tax code be simplified, the budget balanced and wars ended.  Anything else would be gravy.
