The Color Purple & The Meaning of Life

By
Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

Enthusiasm is a Greek word that means, to be possessed by a god. To be enthusiastic, one must act enthusiastic. To illustrate enthusiasm, one has to be absorbed in those meaningful activities that will express your essence.

When being self-absorbed by passion, I find myself immersed in my thoughts, beliefs and ideas about life. I easily identify passion with the color purple. In my photograph, I looked deep into my work of art and my soul reflecting with intensity on my own existence, which is in itself, a work of art. The perception of art is typically complicated but it represents the eye of your soul.

I am passionate about life and its four seasons which offers diversity, challenges, inspiration, joy, happiness and love. To quote Oscar Wilde, "What is beautiful is joy for all seasons and a possession for all eternity." As we move through the seasons of our life, we learn to persevere. How do you persevere best? I believe, we do it with dignity and respect.

By being put here on this earth I am taught that every society has its challenges. How we deal with challenges and whether or not we turn them into opportunities, is the question. In one of my earliest blog posts, I shared my love for the purple pansy. These flowers were very popular in the 19th Century and they say, a perfect pansy, has deep clear color, a circular skirt, a variegated fringe, and a single, bright, central eye. In my photograph, I wanted you to see the eye, which is the soul that drives enthusiasm and passion.

Inspiration is the driving force that sustains life. Since the beginning of time, all societies, have been met with obstacles to overcome their sorrows and misfortunes. Never give up. Feel the passion about what you believe in and believe in your dreams. They are the source of your strength, courage, joy and happiness. I am no different than you, immersed in passion which ultimately contributes to my destiny.

Now, more than ever, people need to maintain enthusiasm and hope for their future and the future for generations to come. Dig deep, into the well of your soul and discover what you're passionate about. Become enthusiastic. We live in a complicated and diverse world. We all need to share in the responsibility to take pride in ourselves and our individual distinctions, including the planet where we all live. A home is a place where we dwell, but what we believe in, dwells in our soul. For me, this is the meaning of life.

Patricia,

There is no color that evokes as much passion as the color purple. You're right, we need to find a way to overcome our obstacles and keep moving forward. The next generation depends on it.

A,

I did not know that purple dyes come from the sea. That's very interesting! Thank you for sharing that pearl of wisdom.

I'll bet your L.A. Living Room was absolutely amazing, rich in color and design.

My dining room has purple accents. It's my favorite room.

As always, I continue to learn something new from you.

With gratitude,

Patricia

William,

I hope you will post your Christmas Tree during the holidays. I would love to see it in all its splendor.

I have an acrylic sculpture that looks like an ice sculpture. I was playing with my camera, taking picture of it from different angles and using different lights. It is purple and the color of clear glass. In this particular shot, I went deep into the center and managed to get this photograph which I was drawn to. The result was this photo and my inspirational post. I was in hopes that it would inspire others too.

I'm glad to know that you and many others are also passionate about the color purple.

That was a very enjoyable and heartfelt read. My girlfriend likes pansies, too. Funny that I don't know what her favorite color is. I guess I better find out, sooner rather than later when it might matter! lol

Rob,

I watched the movie, "The Color Purple," several times. It is one of my top ten movies... perhaps because it is such a passionate script and has all the right characters.

One of my all time favorite High School required books for English Literature was, "Black Like Me," by John Howard Griffin. The book was powerful because the main character, author and journalist put himself  inside another man's shoes which taught me empathy like I had never known before. Since then, compassion flows through my veins and goes straight to my heart.

I'm glad I gave you something to ponder...

Rich,

Over the years, I think many people  have become complacent, thinking and believing in the desires of the heart and somewhere along the way, self-servant leadership got lost along the way. With a humble heart and the right passion, we can overcome these giant obstacles, but it's going to take a nation of people to do that, and who better to lead the way, than people in the Real Estate profession, who have a deep understanding and love for the land, true concern about the environment, the health of our nation, the economy, compassion for people, and believe in integrity in all that they do.

If our children suffer, our oceans and rivers will be overflowing with tears.

Let's stir up passion!

Eric,

If you want to live a blissful life, then you need to know everything there is to know about your lady! Yes! Her favorite color is important to her and just as important to you! A good relationship requires commitment, loyalty, and passion.

Many a marriage could have been saved, if only he knew all the answers about her.

Joshua,

I think Truman said it best, "Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity change things for the better."

We all need to lead with confidence and stop looking up to our false gods in government places.
