Downtown The Dalles, Oregon... Don't Miss The Murals

The Dalles Oregon is located about 20 miles east of Hood River. Since we're just outside Hood River, we've focused our business here more, but lately I've been spending more time in The Dalles and I'm starting to really see the charm of this small town. The town is steeped in history and is the third oldest incorporated town in Oregon. The town of The Dalles marks the end of the Oregon Trail, although many pioneers continued on to Oregon City. I've driven by them many times, but yesterday I actually stopped and really studied several murals through the downtown area. They are really quite well done and they represent the history of The Dalles and it's place on the Oregon Trail. Keep in mind that these stretch across massive building walls, measuring maybe 75 feet wide or more. I'm sharing only my three favorite... you'll have to see the rest for yourself.
