Email vs. Snail mail

By
Real Estate Agent with RETIRED 200305001

I wanted to continue the debate that has been in several other blogs. I want to start be stating my opinion as a customer of other services.

When I receive an email that misses the spam filter that is not from someone I delete without opening. When I receive Snail mail with "bulk" postage and a label for address, it usually hits the post office recycle bucket, un opened. If it has full postage and a handwritten address, I will talk the time to open it. They did take the time to hand write the address.

This is my personal view and how I put out my quarterly newsletters. Many in my office think I should use labels and bulk mail, they do and I think they are wasting time as they usually don't get a response. In as few as 50 letters sent to just part of my data base, I will get a GOOD listing in a couple days from it. Your thoughts??

Rob-I agree with you I always recycle letters that are form letters and any hand written labeling I will normally open.

I agree Rob! I actually do take the time and handwrite all the addresses, it is time-consuming for sure, but I like to think it pays off in the long run .. among all the bulk/junk mail they'll recognize my handwriting (I also don't write with a black pen). And I am a big believer in handwritten THANK YOU cards, after an appointment... on the 1st "house-anniversary", X-Mas ...

With my families help we still hand address some 500+ envelopes every month, because exactly like you, if it isn't hand addressed it is thrown out.
