Update from the San Marcos Historical Society

Twin Oaks Valley Equestrian Association, along with the San Marcos Historical Society and the Twin Oaks Valley Property Owners Association held an old fashioned ice cream social and everyone had a grand time.

This was simply a social event that allowed the members and their friends from these groups to get to know each other.  The Historical Society licked up a new member or two, which was a nice bonus.

The board members from each group helped set up, serve ice cream and break down at the end of the day.

The highlight of the event was the local band Bucket Rukus seen below performing their version of Proud Mary

I can't remember the last time I went to an ice cream social. It might have been decades ago when my dad was still alive. Ice cream socials were the thing in the 1970s in Riverside, and families from miles around would show up, including ours.
