Consider recyling it and get paid for it! Oh and PG&E will pick it up too.

A rebate of $35 will be mailed to you for your effort in recycling responsibly. How about your old AC unit?
Get an extra $25 when you recycle your old working room air conditioner at the same time.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

The refrigerator or freezer must be clean, empty and all units must be in working condition.

The unit must meet the size requirement, which is 10—32 cubic feet.

You must be a current PG&E electric customer.

Limit two units total per customer per calendar year.

You must provide clear and safe access to your appliances for the removal team. They will not risk injury or be able to move personal effects or modify your home (e.g.: remove door or railings) to remove the unit(s).
