Remembering...
Long before ribbons of asphalt crisscrossed the country sides and subdivisions replaced the once fertile fields, I remember when things were much different. Driving the rural, back-roads, of this sprawling area, I recall when "Cotton was King" and you could get fresh vegetables from the bounty farmers would set up on road side stands. Life was simple and easy. Brentwood was still an unincorporated village and Williamson County was just miles along the interstate.
Although I can't turn back the hands of time, I still remember those cool, misty, southern mornings. The peaceful sounds of birds heralding the dawn, the whirring of a tractor somewhere over the hills, the smell of bacon floating on the thick morning air. There is nothing like watching the first golden rays of a new day peek over the horizon...
I understand just what you mean. In our area we have subdivisions, shopping malls, and restaurants where we used to have open spaces. It is so amazing to "remember when".

Great pictures - you are very talented photographer. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Michael, Beautiful photo of a quiet beginning to a beautiful day. Yes change just keeps happening and it is great that you can capture some of the beauty in your area that may be gone years from now.
Doug and I enjoy motorcycle rides on back country roads to get back some of that feeling of easier days gone by.

There was a point in time when things were much simpler and we wanted more. Now, it seems, we just want simpler! Enjoy your day!
You always manage to capture a little piece of Americana Michael - when times were simpler. Your talent is for capturing beautiful scenes that envoke feelings of peace and serenity is extraordinary and can't be said enough. I have to go visit your other photos from when I was away - I don't want to miss any!
I spent the night in Brentwood on my honeymoon years ago. You were probably not even born. I thought Brentwood was the most beautiful place I had ever been. It was so pretty that I wanted to leave Gatlinburg to visit Brentwood. Yes, it has really changed. It is beautiful but not like it once was years ago.
What a beautiful image, and how strongly it resonates with my memory as well. Fo a moment you made me remember by childhood
Michael- your photo and your words lets those of us not able to be there "see" it in our heads. Thank you!
I love the hues in your picture Michael, and you painted it well with your words.
Hi Michael~ I always love your photos, and really enjoy them when you write in your free spirited style, enhancing them ten fold with your words!
Best regards from Seattle,
Howdy and morning Michael
