Please remember Schools OPEN, for many already. It's time to get back to adhering to the Stop signs that pop-out on the bus, to watch for children walking on the side of the road to get to the bus stop, and to be prepared for STOPPING quickly.
School in Pocono Mountain School District is starting even earlier this year so there will be many times when these kids will be walking to bus stops and waiting for the bus in the DARK so PLEASE slow down, think of the kids, and give yourself a few extra minutes to get to work so you can be prepared and slow down.
SAFETY FIRST! leads to No Regrets Later.
When you see the yellow flashing lights of the School Bus, begin to slow down. Don't just wait until you see the RED STOP SIGN POP OUT to slow down and Stop - PLEASE.
If we could all plan on it taking us at least 10-15 minutes longer to get to work at this time of year (especially with all this road construction still in process) we could save some lives.
Also, I would like to emphasize following the posted speed limits when on school property. So many drivers go well over the posted speed limits in these "high risk" areas.
