Via Brad Baylor (ERA Coup Agency):

I received a phone call yesterday from a client whose home I have listed for sale, and who also has a contract on another home that he and his wife are purchasing.  We spoke about several items involved in both transactions, and then he dropped this on me.  "My wife and I were viewing the virtual tour you did for our home, and we'd like to ask, could you please change the music?  It sounds too sad.  We viewed some of the other virtual tours you've done and the music seems more upbeat on them."

I was speechless for a couple of seconds, but of course, I work for the sellers, so I said sure, I can change it.  After we concluded our call and I spent a few minutes grumbling to myself about it, I remembered that just because I liked the music, doesn't mean my clients should like it.  Fortunately, the software I use, Photo Story 3 for Windows allowed me to just change the music without having to create a new tour.

The end result of this for me is that now I'm wondering how many other tours I've built where my client didn't like the music I chose, but didn't tell me.  Going forward, perhaps I should ask if they have a preference.

Oh by the way, if you happen to know of any agents that could use a "shot in the arm" to boost their production or any potential new agents looking to start a Career in Real Estate in San Diego, please send me their name and number and I will be happy meet with them.

I have not run into that myself but you never know...I guess what I got out of that post more than anything is that he took himself out of the equation and made it right with his client.
