A strong earthquake today in Virginia shook us all and put everyone on edge. The nuclear power plant was shut down and the schools in the area are closed for two weeks for repairs. No major injuries or extensive damage were reported after the 5.8 magnitude earthquake outside of the masonry buildings. The quake prompted evacuations of office buildings and the precautionary closing of monuments in the nation's capital. Aftershocks have been reported of 2.8, 2.2, 4.2.
