Hotlanta (Atlanta) Rocks in the area of Affordability!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Top Agents Atlanta Metro

Check out your cities affordability in the statistics .  Data on Bankrate.com measures affordability in the areas of home costs, rental, movies for 2, cup of coffee, cereal, dentist visits, dry cleaning, etc.  Atlanta stacks up amount the most affordable of the larger cities in the country.Horn of Plenty

Perhaps the most interesting is in the area of salary comparisons, Bankrate.com shows a $50,000 salary in Atlanta is comparagble to a $113,305 salary in New York, $84,251 in San Francisco, $71,673 in Washington, DC and $61,486 in Chicago, just to name a few.  We are one of the most affordable cities in the country.

Other information that is interesting is in area of Apartment rentals, Atlanta average is $798 with New York being the highest at $3340, but Chicago is about twice Atlanta at $1503.

So moving to Atlanta will really stretch your dollars in a lot of places and also allow you to live in a city with the World's Busiest Airport so you can take that extra money and travel the world.  With 2 large terminals, Hartsfield Jackson has 171 domestic and 28 international gates.  The airport is one of the largest employers in the Georgia economy with 58,000 employees.

Come explore Atlanta, and you may, like we did never go back.  We love Atlanta.

About six years ago only 7% of the average San Diego households making the median income could afford a median house. Now that prices have back to earth, almost 54% can afford a median-priced home. I think that's still too low. I think a sustainable and stable real estate market exists when about 75% of the households can afford a median-priced home.
