2011 Warren County Ohio School District Report Cards Released (edit/delete)
Schools are opening their doors in Warren County this week, and the latest Ohio Department of Education School Report Cards were released today!
Ratings are given in 26 categories, and a "Value Added" category. This last category gets a bit tricky for the top schools to maintain, as it measures whether students exceed one year's worth of learning for a school year. If a school has MANY superior students already performing above their expected level, it is difficult to get the Value Added criteria met. This primarily comes in to play for deciding whether a school is Excellent with Distinction, or Excellent. Either category provides superior education, and depending on specific programs needed, a school district rated Excellent might be a better choice than the one rated with Distinction. Warren County is fortunate to consistently have some of the best schools in the region!
Ratings are given (highest to lowest): Excellent with Distinction, Excellent, Effective, Continuous Improvement, Academic Watch and Academic Emergency.
Warren County continues to provide superior school systems, with only one of 8 public school systems not achieving at least Excellent! That's an improvement over 2010 when two districts were rated Effective and the remainder Excellent or Excellent with Distinction.
Ratings for the year:
Excellent with Distinction: Mason City Schools, Springboro Community Schools
Excellent: Carlisle Local Schools, Lebanon City Schools, Kings Local Schools, Wayne Local Schools
Effective: Franklin City Schools
