8-23-2011 Never Forget

We all watched in awe as the News Reported the Virgina earthquake, not in the earthquake itself, but in the irresponsible journalism that was happening right in front of our face - I had to slap myself a few times to make sure I wasn't dreaming all this up. They just kept reaching, and reaching and reaching, but there was nothing more to report. Here I sit right now and the newscaster is trying to catch my attention with words like "STUNNING EARTHQUAKE YESTERDAY"

I think my electric toothbrush registers higher on the Richter scale

Responsible Reporting: Shepard Smith, Watching the news, and he says, if your looking for more on the earthquake - change the channel, in this Twitter/Facebook world, we have no serious damage photos, ZERO injury's, there is nothing to report here - stop freaking out. Lets get to the real news - (my new hero)

This Picture says it all

Great photo. I spent 20 years in southern California, so I've felt my share of earthquakes. I lived near Camp Pendelton Marine Base in Oceanside, CA, so when the house jerked I would wait a second or two to see if it was continuing. If the shaking kept going it was an earthquake, if not it was just marines blowing something up on base.

Yes Melissa

I was living in Guam when we had the 8.2 earthquake, and in Hawaii when we had the 6.8 and 6.5 .

5.8 are tremors, we dont even get to go home for those :)

I thought it was amazing the lack of knowledge on the Richter scale also, the guy reporting was, like 5.8, 5.9 its all the same - insane - that little difference is more than a Kiloton of TNT power

OK - East coast, the tremors over, now get back to work - LOL
