It feels like i've been away from here for months - but I guess it really is just a few days. So many of my recent posts have been complaints about the computer and since I was still growling, it seemed best to just be quiet.
This new computer is eating DAYS of my life! Between trying to figure out how to make it work properly and getting all the files transferred, it has taken over. Today I discovered that my printer will no longer scan - no drivers or some darn thing.
Anyway... I'm sick of hearing me grumble.
So instead, I'll report on my Sunday adventure.
Early in the morning my son called to ask if I wanted to go to the woods in search of huckleberries. I looked at the work on my desk and the floor that needed to be vacuumed and the garden that needed weeding, and said "Yes!"
So I got to spend a pleasant few hours with one of my favorite people in the universe - my kid.
We didn't find any berries, but we did a lot of driving on old logging roads, some of which had potholes hiding in the shadows, so we nearly bounced our heads on the ceiling. Every now and then we'd come around a corner and get a view of the mountains on the other side of the valley. We're pretty sure that's where the berries were.
Some of the hair-pin corners are amazing. I can't quite figure out how they get a big long logging truck bent around them. Those drivers must have nerves of steel.
I took some pictures, and they're in here somewhere. Unfortunately, they're hiding. I found them, really I did, and I think I even reduced the size so I could upload them. And twice I saved them in my "Active Rain" file. But when I tried to find them from here... Nope. Not happening. They aren't there.
I've never had so much trouble saving files and getting them in the right places... even back when I was first learning to use a computer it wasn't this difficult.
By the time I figure out how to find my way around in Windows 7, I'm sure it will be obsolete.
But I forgot all about it and had fun last Sunday!
