15 Comments on Celebrate the Day- I Can Vote Thanks to Our Mothers and Grandmothers.. AND Let's Not Forget Our Favorite 4 Legged Friends!
You, my friend, are definitely the Queen of the Unknown Holiday! Happy Women's Equality Day and Happy Dog Day to you!
Hi Kathy....Rocky thanks you for remembering National Dog Day..... I'm sure he'll sleep through it!!!
Thanks Kathy! Going to have to take Peanutman for an extra long walk today!
Kathy - I still can't believe it was less than 100 years ago that women couldn't vote - that sounds so ridiculous today! I'll be treating my Lucy to an extra long walk, off leash through the woods today in honor of National Dog day, especially with Irene bearing down on us - she might be housebound for a few days!
Craig.... it's so good to be Queen of something..

Barbara- and if that's what Rocky wants to do... that's would he should do... although he'll miss his special day.
Marco- how about a trip to his favorite doggie park??
Kristine- No kidding. Get Lucy out for some fresh air and keeping my fingers crossed for everyone's safety!
Thank goodness we're here now and not way back then, Kathy. I would have been one of the women trying to get the vote passed. And, thank you for the mention. It is National Dog Day and I am working on a post about it now.
PS-sorry the cat didn't want to leave Susan's blog. He can be very stubborn at times. But he has a good home.
Kathy,
Amen to that. What a wonderful thing to celebrate, and I cried when I saw the dog and the coffin pix. It is a moving moment and still brings tears to my eyes. A
What a fabulous photo of the doggie and I could not stop crying. Thank you for this.
Well, no wonder women and dogs are some of my favorite combos!!! Didn't know it was National Dog Day. I was going to look at the dog video, but as soon as I saw the first part, my eyes already welled up, so as it was trying to load, I decided, better NOT, because I will become a puddle on the floor (not THAT KIND!!--HAHA).
My mother-in-law has always said she wants to come back as one of my dogs. A great compliment. And yup, all dogs ought to be spoiled (in a good way) and
ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN
As usual, I had no clue these holidays even existed. There's only one dog in my life currently, my granddoggie, Monkey. Happy Dog Day to Monkey!
I was reading Toni's blog and happened to see the reblog on your post. I did give my chocolate lab, Zeke, an extra biscuit today for National Dog Day, as well as a bath, and played fetch...and of course another biscuit.
Kathy,
We have so much to be thankful for, cry for, jump for joy for, and we definitely need more people in Washington to make better opportunities for women.
I saw that video before and it broke my heart.
What a great post! I just love your creativity.
Patricia
Toni= I had to do a double take when I saw your cat over there!!! And, I could just see you marching.
Alexandra- me too, in fact I watched it once but can't bear to watch it again.
Joanna- it is so sad and touching and yes... it brought tears to my eyes.
Gayle- take my word for it, you would be crying.. a lot. Did I tell you I love your new pic!!!
Sharon- I'd have no clue either. Thank goodness for the Internet.
Rebecca - good for you! I'd bet Zeke thought it was his birthday!
Patricia- Thank you... we do have a lot to be thankful for but we still have some work to do!
Good morning Kathy. Maybe that is the reason that dog is God spelled backwards ~ unconditional love...
Michael- that is the best thought yet! Our dogs love us not matter what... warts and all!
