Remnants of Hurricane Irene

Well, Hurricane Irene skirted the east coast of Florida without incident. She is a large storm and is currently headed for the Northeastern states. We feared torrential winds and rains. Here in Melbourne it rained for a few times off and on yesterday, and it was a bit breezy. We were fortunate.

Hurricane Irene brought us some larger than normal waves. The surfers are grateful. But, it makes it difficult for beach erosion that is always a concern when a storm of this magnitude comes through.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those in the Northern states over these next few days, with Irene headed your direction.

Great picture, you guys were lucky to avoid the storm, I felt sorry for the East Coast they are not used to hurricanes or how to be prepared for them ( not that you can ever be fully prepared. I was in New York and all of them were scurrying around not sure what to do. I just keep praying that damage is minimal and no loss of life!

Yolanda, It looks like Irene is headed in their direction. I hope they are making the proper preparations. I am with you, praying that damage is minimal.
