Asheville Real Estate Journal- Content is Queen… or King
( Energize Blog Content Series- Part 1)
Every so often, I get to thinking about sprucing up my blog. I’m sure Asheville Stagers could help. Or, Laura Cerrano --whose recent post on abundance delighted me, might have some Feng Shui suggestions- if that were the creative challenge on my mind. But today I’m thinking more about energizing blog Content rather than appearance.
A Little AR History: Since way back in 2006-2007, I’ve been hearing about the very targeted content on my blog from clients who found me via Active Rain. ( My market niche is sustainable innovation and eco-friendly real estate- news, trends, opinions and reports. )
Clients tell me that "Content" is what attracted them. They tell me that our subsequent conversations, based on what I had written, and what they knew about me by reading between -the-lines brought them to meet me and ask me to represent them.
So....Content and Conversation. Combined with staying on subject (market niche) is a proven way to address an interested real estate audience. That is what has me thinking (again) about ways to “ZAP” (energize) (see graphic) what I write each day with high-energy blog juice!

In this series,Content is Queen… or King- Energize Blog Content- I am considering igniting five (5) possible sparks...
1. Energize Content:
Of course I will need to do homework. I will need to look at keywords and phrases, those long and chummy money-tails . What if you run out of phrases you think someone might type in for a Search— phrases that will lead them straight to the local expert, YOU ?? I tried this: I asked friends/colleagues to pretend as if they are relocating to Asheville (my neck of the woods- fill in yours) and hand over those phrases! I got some beauts!!! You’d be surprised what people will type in when they have specific ideas about what is important to them in buying and selling real estate. . ..
2. Schedule Time for Local Real Estate Data and Keyword Research:
Nothing can “spruce up” Content like market trends and watch reports- Good Idea: Regularly schedule time to do real estate data research. Buyers and sellers are on the prowl for reliable stats! This knowledge, and being able to interpret local data for clients, can place you at the center of real estate conversations in your market…and YES! That’s an excellent position for you to be in if you do much work online.
You can set up Google Alerts for keywords. Then you can track when an article or blog post appears that meets target criteria.
And try the ReBlog function here at Active Rain. Here’s an excerpt from a reBlog. It is from a post for the lively and stylish (if I do say so myself) Mountain Homes and Land Legacies Active Rain Blog (and associated blogs.) I wrote a brief personal introduction here to thank DEBB JANES for her post and nod to me - the power of video and sound. The combined efforts of AR colleagues can, in this way, maximize outreach potential and credibility. So “ sandwiching” a portion of the Google Alert with our own copy is effective. I refer to the blogger-source IN CAPS (source also is automatically cited via the reBlog function.)
Please do let me know what you think...and Stay Tuned for Part 2
