USAA Federal Savings Bank vs Veterans with financial hardships?

In an effort to help themselves USAA Federal Savings Bank has made the following overture regarding my most recent postings here on Active Rain, Facebook and Twitter. See below in red:

USAA_help

@HughesTerry If you have been affected, we would like to discuss options with you. Pls email usaasocialmedia_bank@usaa.com with details.

As everyone can see from my blog post; this issue is not about me. The issue is about how USAA Federal Savings Bank is treating a US Military Veteran and active duty member who is experiencing a financial hardships.

If through this process an effective change can be made for my client it will be a win.

My hope is that USAA Federal Savings Bank will make some serious changes in their policies towards all veterans and active duty military members who face financial hardships, this will represent a big win.

I find it encouraging that USAA is willing to have dialoge with me. It would be fantastic if USAA was willing to have this conversation with me online. I will however continue the conversation with them offline as some of the material being covered is confidential in nature. Without divulging confidential information, but; providing enough facts I will share with all of you the developments and outcome of my conversation with USAA Federal Savings Bank.

Sincerely,

I don't trust USAA.  They compete directly with agents/brokers who advertise to home buyers.  Their members are offered a modest REBATE for using a USAA "preferred" agent partner.  They don't disclose to the consumer/member that USAA gets a kick-back of 30-40% of the agent's commission, then rebates a less than half percentage of that kick-back to the consumer.

Hi Lenn,

I'm with you on that issue; I've been dealing with that locally for years. It amazes me that our federal government allows USAA to get away with things they call RESPA violations with all other lenders/title companies etc.

Thank you for your comment Lenn.

In addition to the referrals, they are extremely difficult to work with on short sales.  Many of the govt workers transfer and when they have to move USAA has been brutal with approving short sales.  One of our worst nightmares.
