How «High» is High Rise?
Did you ever ask yourself this question? How high is high rise? Is there a definition of a high rise? I googled, and the king of answering every stupid question out there choked on this one. You can read about tower block, vertical construction and all this, but I could not find a definition of how high is a high rise.
But today I found the answer, thanks for Florida Statutes. There, in Chapter 718.112 (I) (Condominium Law) I ran into this « ...a high rise building, meaning one greater than 75 feet in height.» So, now I can breathe so much easier...
Now I know that there are no high-rise buildings in Ponce Inlet, as they used to limit the height at 70' (and now it is only 35'). So, the tallest in Ponce Inlet is 7-storey. In Daytona Beach Shores, which not only has the longest shoreline in greater Daytona, but also the highest concentration of condos in the area, they are practically all high rises. There are not that many condos on the Beachside in Daytona Beach, and those on the Beach are mostly high rises, and those towards the Intracoastal are low to midrise buildings. Ormond Beach has both, and Ormond-by-the-Sea is all lower than 75'.
And yep, Oceans Grand in Daytona Beach Shores, where I live now, is a high rise building. At 21-storey there is no doubt about it.
It would be interesting to know how many people in real estate live in high rises.
So far I know that it is me and Mr. Trump. Not in the same high rise, though...
Not sure who should welcome who to the club.
Just in case, hey, buddy...
