9 Comments on Hurricane Irene - Before
Beverly, Sounds like you have the hurricane preparedness down to a science. I hope tomorrow it turns out as you say, a big waste of time. Best of luck to you.
Thanks Pamela, so far, so good!
Stay safe and I will pray for you and your family. Sounds like a lot of work.
You certainly know what your are doing. My heart goes out to you and everyone in Irene's path. Please keep us all updated.
Dear Beverly - Almost as we speak there are probably bands coming your way. I know it seems like a waste of time. I always used to winch at it & "how we are stimulating the economy" just by these storms. Trust me it would be way worse without those preparations... xoxo please let me know how things go when you can!! (your neighbor in the hurricane belt) Pam
Good Morning Beverly, I hope all your effort was not needed and the storm passes you by. Be careful out there.
Wind is picking up here and I suspect that rain is on the way. We are fortunate to have a whole house generator so we and our dogs will have water, electricity and AC for the duration
Truth is Tim, it is a LOT of work but it's, maybe, once every two years on average that we must make our preparations and pray! Last year, not at all. Year before all the work and just picking up pine cones and small limbs afterwords. Oh yeah, we did have to put all that stuff back where it usually lives in the long summers here.
Well, were in it now and I still have power but it's flickering - will try to write a "during" post and remember to "save frequently!"
Oh Pam, you know of what you speak! Thank you for the loving thoughts! They are appreciated!!
Dan, you are completely on our wave length and John and I will be thrilled if we can agree, it was all a waste of time."
Wallace, you already had the earthquake this week. I pray you sustained little damage and that this new threat does you no harm today.
