Why Incoming Links Are Important To Your Web Site! And How To Get Them!

This is worthwhile reading if you are trying to improve the visibility of your web site or blog...

Deep linking is a SEO term used to describe all these links coming in from other places on the Internet to as many pages of your web site as possible...

Why is it so beneficial having them? It tells the search engines that you obviously have lots of worthwhile content, tools and resources located throughout your site and it also telegraphs that other sites find your site highly interesting. All of which translates into better visibility on the Web.

And what does it tell the search engines when all your inbound links are coming in to the home page only? It implies that you have a shallow site of little value, or that your links were generated by automation rather than by the value of your site content.

Therefore you should make it a habit to point with bold face links to relevant content pages on your web site when writing your ActiveRain blogs or post information about it on social networks. This is a good start to create some varied inbound links to various pages of your site.

Hi, Phyllis:  They say you learn something new every day, and I must agree.  Just when I think I'm getting a good handle on the whole SEO thing, up comes another good post that I can add to my package.  I'm going to re-blog this as well.

Thank you for the information.

Phyllis - Yes, this seems to be so important.  Now, when I write a new page on my site, I always think about an accompanying blog post to link to it, so there is at least 1 inbound link to it. Plus, it helps get the new page indexeed faster.

Great Post Phyllis! We have so many opportunities to create inbound links to our site in real estate. We are constantly involved in Social Media in our profession. Even though most social media sites are free, they take time and we should be compensated accordingly. A simple link pays off in the long run. Also, Each medium has a different audience and the use of small social media sites like Compelling-Solutions.com can allow you to spread into new networks. Of course, I use the usual Active Rain, facebook, twitter, and LinkedIn.

well... we got really soaked by "Irene"... many Westchester County locations were and are still under water... we had some heavy property and infrastructure damages due to record flood waters and very high winds... clean up and repair crews everywhere... looks like the entire East Coast from NC up will need some serious time to recover...
