16 Comments on Hurricanes are Like Real Estate
Margaret, I wouldn't have thought there was anything at all in about realestate that was like hurricanes, but your suggestion of "being prepared for the worst and hoping for the best" certainly works for realestate as well as almost anything in life.
Margaret,
You draw some accurate analogies. Great job tying the subject matter to current events!

Good morning, Margaret....we're just experiencing some wind now....we'll have a long day today and hopefully won't lose power.....that's the worst part....
Hi Margaret...
Real estate really is like standing in the middle of the tempest ... nice analogy. I hope that all of my friends and family in the path of the storm fare well.
Margaret - great analogy ..... there is much about the weather that is similiar to real estate or terms that we use in real estate or that affects real estate.
We lost power about 5:30 AM..our generator did not work. Waiting for contractor to try and get it started. I'm in the car charging my cell phone. Lot's of debris and downed trees all over...more later... when power is resumed!
You could probably say that hurricanes are also like some home inspectors, full of wind.... LOL
I liked Russel's comment. And, I hope you are okay, and it sounds as if you weathered the storm in pretty good shape. Just get that generator started!
Russell, Some inspectors might be... but not you!
Suzanne, Generator is now working. Fingers crossed to keep it that way.
Margaret, you always have something great, something new! Nobody would have ever thought of this. And what a comparision!
Though we were lucky here in Massachusetts as compared to most of the East Coast.
Praful, Glad you like the comparrison and thanks for taking time to reblog. You are so darn special1
This is so true...be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. Hope you are faring well.
Your post and your comparison of Real Estate to Irene was very interesting. I do hope you and Lee are doing okay up there. I heard the Balmer area had some outages. We just got our power back. :) Talk with you soon. :) Gail
Tammie, Thanks for stopping by.
Gail, Our neighborhood has been without power for over 24 hours. Very fortunate...our generator is working.
Let's talk soon..it's been way too long.
Another gem! Thank you!!!
Leah,
You are very right -- life can "rock you like a hurricane"
Blessings to everyone,
Laura
