I purchased a palm treo smartphone this past spring due in large part to the fact that I can use it in lue of my Supra lockbox key.  I've had it now for over 6 months and I must confess, I hate it.  The area I live in the cell service is sketchy at best but when there is no service, the other functions on the phone do not work either.  That includes my calender, calculator, web access.  The entire phone goes black when I'm not in a coverage area.  The keypad is way too small to type, the phone is too big and cumbersome and routinely gets knicked up as a result.  Does anyone else have similar problems or can anyone share any redeeming qualities that this phone may have?

Had two of these buggers and didn't like them at all.  I preferred the Windows OS but then that won't work with the Supra key.  So know I'm on the "new" 8525 with service by AT&T but I'm not sure it'll work with the Supra key either.  However, this 8525 seems to be better than the Treo (in my opinion) for email, calendaring, etc.  Hit eBay and get rid of it!  :)

Keith I can't relate to you with your treo experience. I have had a treo 600, which I did hate, treo 650 and now the treo 700p. The treo 600 was just a piece of crap. I only had it for about a week before my carrier released the treo 650 so I was upgraded to to a string of lemon treo 600's I got. It's been over 2 years now and I must say I can't see myself with any other phone although I must say I'm tempted by the iPhone even though I can't load the ekey software on it.

Good luck with your treo.

KS: I wonder if your coverage area is better.  I'm in Central Virginia and have Verizon as my cell carrier.  Thanks for input.

Oh yeah! I know your frustration. Mine will turn the phone off while sitting in the case...maybe there is a little too much pressure or something? I don't know. I guess I need to turn keyguard back on to prevent this. But, I've had it turn the phone off while on a call and then try to reset itself. I really have to agree with you about the keyboard, way too small. Coverage is horrible with my carrier...I get a ton of dropped calls. I guess I just have a lot little things that bug me about the phone, nothing major, but they all add up.

I have the treo 650 and overall I like it.  I find that my cell phone service is not the as good as my old phone (and the carrier is still the same) but even when I do not have cell service all my other functions usually work.  Good luck

JOHN  I agree, I've tried to overlook the annoying things but I have come to the conclusion that the phone sucks.  If I provided this kind of service to my clients, I would be fired.  Thanks for your response.

DONNA:  Don't upgrade to the 700p.  It's frustrating when things don't work the way they should.

JOE:  The I phone looks cool, but the price tag and I'm not sure for business purposes.  Another agent in my office has one and loves it.  thanks for input.

I have a treo 750. I really like it but no one can seem to tell me how to use it as my lockbox key. How did you figure it out?

11/06/2007 03:31 PM by Jordan

JORDAN:  I had to go to my board and there is of course a charge to use it as a lockbox key.  I think it's $39 a qtr, way too expense.  Thanks for input.
