Have you considered “branching out” into other fields?
This is an absolutely great blog article about the "thinning out" of the ranks in what is a great business good market or bad market.
Just had to reblog it!
It seems that these days I encounter more and more individuals that are trying to expand their business by branching out into new fields of endeavor.
And that’s not a bad idea. After all, a “one-trick pony” is a lot more susceptible to the whims of adverse market forces, and there is always a precarious balance between specialization and a far too narrow scope.
I know of lot of former real estate agents here in Newnan Georgia that were experts on new homes sales. They listed subdivision after subdivision and were always the top producers in every real estate office.
But when the new homes market collapsed, they were unable to transition into new market niches, and eventually gave up real estate completely.
It never hurts to expand your skill set and to try new things.
And it just might keep you in business longer!
