It's too Hot to be Cute!!!
It's too hot to be cute but I'm still working and guess what I've noticed? Not too many other agents are out showing homes or holding Open Houses. Although I will confess it may not be the best idea to host an Open House in this type of heat if you have not tested the air conditioner system to make sure it will keep the home comfortable during the event. (It's not a strong selling point to invite clients into a sweltering home.)
Suggestion: if you are determined to hold an Open House why not do a twilight Open House? As the sun wanes in the west the temperature is slightly cooler and not blazing down on the roof heating the entire house with oven-like temps.
Here in Riverside, California home buyers and home sellers have been blasted with the dog days of summer scorcher. I mean we have suffered through what the newscaster's euphemistically refer to as triple digit temps. (I guess if they don't announce the actual numbers, such as 104 degrees or 107 degrees we won't feel quite as hot.)
Anyway I would like to share 5 tips for assisting clients during the "triple digit heat wave."
- Tip # 1 - If possible focus your searches on areas near the beach. Now for us in the Inland Empire that's about 65 miles west but you're probably looking at temperatures in the 80"s.
- Tip # 2 - Do not arrive too early for appointments, you'll have to sit in the car waiting for your clients.
- Tip # 3 - Be sure to have enough gas in the car so that you can continue running the air conditioner on high.
- Tip # 4 - Clothing should be made of natural fibers, cottons are best. Linen looks great when you first put it on but after stepping out of the car you look like a wrinkled mess.
- Tip # 5 - If all else fails take your clients for Margarita's. That will help to cool everyone off, allow you to relax and discuss your new strategy.
Now by keeping these tips in mind,
you may have success while other agents have all gone on vacation to escape the "triple digit heat."
