It is a question to stimulate conversation to the more mature. To the young listening in, it can be come very interesting to partake in. Just add you own dynamics to the answer to make it mean something. Less is more. I will go first. IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN I WOULD: ask more questions. That's right.....

WANTING TO KNOW THINGS IS GOOD

You see knowledge is truly power and practical knowledge saves time and money. We come into this world wanting to know things automatically using two of the famous question starters almost without effort; HOW and WHY. However, there is something in the world that discourages this for many reasons and we learn to keep quiet instead

HOW AND WHY

But we still want to know don't we. My parents didn't have the patience or the savvy to answer questions, my Rabbi could go only so far, teachers don't have the time and others are just too busy. It becomes very easy not to ask after a while. In fact, it is considered wrong to pursue right after a while.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE

That is all I would do differently at the earliest age I could speak is to ask questions and not stop until I got an answer that quenched the question. My life would be incredibly enhanced just from that alone. Adults forced to answer would be enriched as well. Everyone wins

PRICELESS IN MY OPINION

You want to build self-confidence in a child. rid them of any low  self-esteem or feelings of un-worth? Do you want to promote excellence and innovative thinking? Encourage children to ask questions and not be intimidated when they encounter resistance or an uncooperative attitude. Teach them that, and the world is truly theirs...

If you had to do it all over again....you would...?

Richie,

My dad asks the most questions of anyone I know.  It's a fabulous skill and shows folks you care, not to mention you learn a heck of a lot.

All the best, Michelle

I only wish I had the insight & interest that I do know, when I was younger! "You don't know what you don't know".... NOW I have tons of questions!  :-)

The ultimate prize for any parent.. that your children never ask this question when they are adults. .

Hello Brenda...it comes when it comes. However, when it does come, it should be supported and encouraged

Ola Fernando...that is an interesting perspective. I asked my parents the questions and it was revealing to say the least
