The Secret - Thought becomes things, focus on your wants, sculpt your life with your thoughts...
I was in a training session today and we watched "The Secret." I thought to myself, "you know, it's pretty much my belief". I believe that there is a great force/energy that is responsible for everything that happens in this world. Why do you always feel so good when you go to church? It's because of all of the POSITIVE energy from everyone!
Anyway, today's session had me thinking - How did this affect my life? How did this way of thinking influence me? Did it affect me in a huge way? And then it hit me! I remembered when I got married 24 years ago - my husband and I were driving from New York to Minneapolis to our new home. We drove through Pennsylvania early one morning and I was enchanted by the magnificent mountains, the abundance of greenery, the morning clouds hanging lazily over the trees (as a child I was told the witches were brewing tea), the twists in the roads and, around every bend there was an spectacular view! I remarked to my husband, "I would love to live in the mountains!" His answer was "we will one day." Most of our vacations were spent in mountainous regions.
My love for the mountains began with my military service. I served the US army in Germany. During that time, I traveled extensively throughout Europe and my favorite spot was the Black Forest. Well, 5 years ago my husband and I settled in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania. Did he keep his promise? Did positive thinking work here? Trust me, it has been my most frequent thought throughout the years! Does that count? I think so! My lesson, it may not happen overnight, but, it will happen! Keep the positive thoughts!
