This man has his hands full. Three kids, two ponies, and a suicide door car.

Blogging has taught me so much.  I'd never heard of suicide doors on cars until it was pointed out on this blog.  See an example below.

Ramona Palmer's dad and siblings

Suicide doors is not the subject of this blog but isn't it amazing how so many old pictures had the car in the scene.  Back to the subject, this man is the father of Ramona Palmer Riddle.  Here's what she has to say about this picture.

Barbara, thought you might get a kick out of this. It is my Dad holding Bo and Linda and Derrel on the ponies. The ponies are Pet and Button.
I was not yet conceived. The photo was made in probably 1943 because my dad thought he was going to have to go to the war. As Estel Jeffery
so delicately put it last week we Baby Boomers came along because the dads were going to war and it .....

(Censored from here on.  Just guess what she said.)

I love the picture and the kids and the dad who seems to be having to concentrate on taking on the responsibility of three kids and two ponies.  The house foundation is also interesting.  Thanks, Ramona, for sharing this priceless family photo.

Erica!  How are you!  I'm too swamped with business (as you are too) to do much blogging and reading my favorite bloggers blogs.  I love the pictures of old cars.

This is my grandfather's brother posing by his car and he's making it clear everyone had better stay

away from that car.

At first glance I thought the little boy in the sailor suit (love it) was holding up the gun!

Don, one thing worse than suicide doors would be NO doors as on this car.  Great picture! Thanks.

Anita, I have to find a picture to add to this blog.  Be back soon!

Wow!  I have been away just a little over a week and look at what all I missed...I love the old pictures...sorry...but Don...that was GREAT!  Loved the picture with the old car and the man with his gun...I can just see the blending of worlds going on there.

I should go back and post on the one with the tree being cut...we are so easily entertained...something that used to happen all the time just so they could have heat or houses ....and the list goes on...but today has become something special...it did look like it was a challenge to lay that tree in the small target area...I would have been watching too...if I had been here.

We were in NC...but we didn't get much from the hurricane either...I sure would have thought that Ms. Mary was still in Searcy...that is a really good memory she has going on there...she can talk about Searcy just like she is looking out the window right here and watching all of the changes.

Your blog Ms. Barbara means a lot to folks...reallly appreciate it.  By the way...I need to stop in and see you sometime...

Debbie, we missed you!  You bring up a good point about folks doing that in the past for wood to heat houses.  Now it is done to keep the tree from killing the houses under them.  Interesting.  Tell Little Luke to figure that one out.
