Needing some beach time

BeachI thought things might slow down a little with the departure of the tourists, but that has not been the case.

I have been extra busy and have a couple of closing on the horizon which is a nice feeling for a change.

On top of that I made the momentous decison, at least for an ex-Apple guy, to buy a Windows laptop.  I did a post, On the eve of Apple's Leopard, I buy a Windows Vista Laptop, over on my Applepeels blog.

Any time you make a technology change, it ends up being more work than you think.

I am not abandoning my Mac, it is just more trouble than it is worth to try to deal with all the real estate forms that we need on a Mac. Also one of our MLS systems doesn't support Macs and then there is a GIS challenge with another system.

Too much switching between computers always means that you have a file someplace that isn't with you when you need it.

I hope to get away from that and do most of my real estate work on one computer.

In the end, computers are just tools that help us get our jobs done.  I'm happy to be able to use Linux, Windows, and Macs to get my jobs done.

At least no one can complain that their computer isn't compatible with me.

With all this work on computers almost done, I'm looking forward to some time walking the beach on the Southern Outer Banks while the waters are still warm enough for wading.

I might even get another chance to go spot fishing. If you want to see what a pail of mostly spots look like, click here.

Of course there is some more recognizable sea food in the area.
