Franklin Lakes Survives Hurricane Irene, BUT

While Franklin Lakes, like many other NJ towns, was without electricity for days, residents were grateful there wasn't more damage, particularly since towns like HoHoKus and Ridgewood got hammered. HoHoKus just got its electricity back on Tuesday afternoon, and the town is still cleaning up after the HoHoKus Brook overflowed its banks, and the streets of the town were underwater. However, Franklin Lakes residents might want to visit Borough Hall just to be certain all their property records are intact, since the building was seriously flooded during the hurricane.  During Hurrican Floyd, towns like Ridgewood lost a great deal of paperwork which can be hair-raising when a homeowner is preparing to sell his home.  Franklin Lakes has always been good about maintaining and dredging its lakes, so there wasn't much concern about overflow.   But before we cheer the end of Irene, news is we may be expecting another.  Is this sounding Biblical to anyone but me???
